В дни фестиваля за эти годы выступили сотни групп, хотя подсчитать всех музыкантов, выступивших в разных городах и странах в дни фестиваля, не берутся даже его организаторы. Главным вдохновителем и автором идеи проведения ежегодного фестиваля International Pop Overthrow является Дэвид Баш (David Bash). Фестиваль уже принимали такие города, как Лос-Анджелес, Сан-Франциско, Нью-Йорк, Чикаго, Бостон, Балтимор, Ливерпуль, Сиэтл, Ванкувер и др. Сборники IPO выпускаются ежегодно в конце фестивального года небольшим тиражом, всего 500 копий. Это – настоящая находка для коллекционеров музыки стиля пауэр-поп и возможность окунуться в мир IPO для всех, кто живёт далеко от Америки и не смог посетить этот фестиваль. Несомненно, поклонники современной рок-музыки ценят IPO за то, что это один из немногих фестивалей, культивирующих красивую, благородную музыкальную эстетику, и он дает возможность выступать неизвестным группам, а также организаторы ежегодно издают песни музыкантов, которые не всегда имеют такую возможность.
